Have you recently started experiencing mood swings or depression? Are you going from laughing to raging to to crying in a matter of minutes? For no apparent reason?
Your hormones could be out of balance.
That was a perfect description of me when my hormones were out of whack.
I would snap at my husband for no other reason than his wanting to help me cook dinner. I mean seriously. What in woman in her right mind would get upset if her husband wanted to actually help with dinner? He was wanting quality time with me and I wanted to bite his head off for it. And cry. It just made no sense. Thank goodness my husband is an amazingly patient man! He took it all in stride.
Hormone Imbalance and Mood Swings
After the night sweats set in, my mood swings were the next clue that my hormones needed help. I was an emotional roller coaster 24/7. I didn’t like feeling moody. It felt so abnormal to me and I wanted to be the happy-go-lucky person I was before. I never really had PMS when I was having my monthly cycle so I knew something was wrong. It certainly wasn’t PMS because I haven’t had a period since 2012. I had never been “hormonal”, but here I was…hormonal.
Hormone Imbalance and Depression
I don’t consider myself to be old, but my body was aging. I was 47 and entering menopause.
If that doesn’t sound depressing, I don’t know what does. Seriously, it may sound stupid, but entering menopause at 47 seemed unfathomable to me. Granted, I had a hysterectomy at 42 and celebrated kicking my monthly visits from Aunt Flow out the door. However, I couldn’t get get over entering menopause. Especially, since the symptoms of it are terrible.
If you’re there then you know what I mean. It’s miserable…and depressing to say the least.
I don’t care what age you are when you enter menopause, there is a certain stigma that comes with it that tells you that you are now old. I don’t feel old. I don’t think I look all that old either. My body was changing..and I didn’t like it. DEPRESSED is an understatement!
Thankfully, I have been able to naturally balance my hormones and, with that have been able to keep mood swings and depression at bay. That doesn’t mean I don’t regress. After all, I am female, am a redhead and I don’t have a puppy to hug at my leisure. I mean seriously, who doesn’t get a smile on their face at the idea of laying in a bed full of puppies?
When I feel myself getting moody, depressed or anxious, I turn to aroma therapy. I had no idea that aroma therapy worked until I started using the same products to balance my hormones. It is scientifically proven that certain scents affect certain parts of the human brain. Whether it’s trauma, depression, anger, laughter, love, sensuality, fear, etc. There is a scent that will talk to your brain.
Aroma therapy is one of my favorite jams. I always have a diffuser running nearby. Not only are my hormones balanced naturally and safely, my mood swings and depression are under control.
I discovered a recipe–magic in a bottle–that I like to call liquid Xanax. I keep a roller bottle of it blended together and apply it topically on my body. The oils in it also work wonders with blended together in a diffuser.
It can be used for more than just mood swings or depression. It is a great recipe if you feel stressed because of work or life in general. Maybe you just need a little help winding down at the end of the day. For instance, if you have a daughter getting married in two weeks and still have so much work to do to prepare for it. You might be stressed. Really stressed. You probably need some liquid Xanax.

I'm telling you, aroma therapy is pretty good therapy!
